Lucas Kastenhuber
Lucas Kastenhuber started in the Spring of 2015 as a general laborer with Spencer Paving.
Lucas had no prior construction experience. His on-the-job training from Bret Smith and the crew was just what he needed!
Lucas has MSHA & OSHA-10 training and flagger certification. Lucas also has had compaction & asphalt training. Lucas can now operate all the equipment used in paving. He worked for four years with the paving crew.
In 2022, Lucas was rehired as Spencer Paving’s estimator. The estimator position opened and he applied for
it with no prior experience. Lucas’ knowledge of working with the crew on the ground has given him the added knowledge needed for project estimating.
Lucas is natural and adapts as we need him to fill different roles for the company! He learned the estimating procedures and has been enjoying this new position ever since! Lucas also helps with scheduling of projects and the hiring of additional trucks for projects as the need arises.
