Bret Smith
Bret Smith started at Spencer Paving as a general laborer in 1992 while he was still in High School.
Bret continued his education at Alfred State College studying automotive trades and continued working with Spencer Paving part time. Bret went full time with the company in 1994 after he graduated from Alfred State College.
At 21 years of age Bret attained his CDL-A license. Bret has held every position with the crew throughout his career & still does!
Bret has been job supervisor for the last 20 years. He has been job estimating for the last 5 years. In 2020 Bret became Spencer Paving’s Vice-President when his father, Barney, passed.
Bret is the second-generation Smith to be helping run our company and is a very valued member of the team.
