Employee Spotlight: Evie Winch
Evie Winch
The Spencer Paving Staff are top notched from the moment they answer the phone to the completion of your paving job.
When you work with us you will always start with Evie Winch who began working with Spencer Paving in 2003 as a part-time bookkeeper.
Evie has been with the company for over 20 years. That’s dedication!
As the company grew, Evie moved from her part-time bookkeeper position to a full-time office manager position and boy are we glad she did.
Evie has an associate’s degree from Tompkins Cortland Community College in accounting and that education is useful in her responsibilities overseeing our day-to-day office operations. Evie is responsible for all the billing of projects, accounts payable and receivables, payroll, and truck registrations. She files all the quarterly tax reports, truck reports, and truck taxes. Evie completes all our commercial contracts and they are very detailed.
Evie is the front line when you call the office, answering the phone and greeting all the new and existing customers. You can feel her smile and warmth through the phone! All customer service issues are handled by Evie. She is in charge of all the printing in the office and the measuring of blueprints.
Evie has been known to estimate projects also. Barney taught her everything about estimating, from measuring to project cost, he passed his knowledge on to her, and she has helped the company grow with her expertise and has passed this skill on to previous estimators and our newest estimator, Lucas.
Evie oversees, types, and sends out individual estimates to each customer, residential and commercial. Each year Evie organizes our yearly company data so it’s easy to go back to at any time for information. Evie schedules all our individual projects as well as all our subcontractors and hired trucks as needed. Evie also does all our insurance for our company and employees. And she wears the hat of an IT person.
The question is, WHAT DOESN’T Evie DO!!
