Let’s Dig Into Excavation

There are so many types of excavation and various types of equipment used for all the different ways to dig into and move the earth.

Spencer Paving deals primarily with:

N

Land Clearing

N

Foundation Drains

N

Underdrains

N

French Drains

N

New Home Sites

N

Expansions

But what does all this mean? Well, let us dig into that a little further.

Land Clearing:

If you have trees, stumps, and other vegetation on your land that you need to have removed we can take care of that for you. Whether you need this done for a new asphalt project or just to clean up an area we have the equipment and skill you would need.

Foundation Drains:

Foundation drains, also called footing drain, are installed under your foundation or basement floor to collect water and move it off-site. This is typically done through either a storm sewer, sump pump or by getting the water to the surface.

Underdrains:

Underdrains are used to collect subsurface water before it starts to puddle and pool on a surface. These are typically used to intercept spring and ground water.

French Drains:

A French Drain (also known as trench drain, filter drain, blind drain, rubble drain, rock drain, drain tile, perimeter drain, land drain, French ditch, sub-surface drain, sub-soil drains or agricultural drain) is in its simplest meaning, a ditch around your home to keep water from getting in your home. This trench is typically filled with gravel or rock or contains a perforated pipe that will redirect surface water away from an area you do not want it to go.

New Home Sites:

If you want to build a new home in a location that does not currently have a home there is a lot of prep work involved including leveling the lot, creating proper, drainage, digging foundations and making sure underground utilities are able to be installed properly.

Expansions:

Looking to expand your home or lot? You will likely need excavation work to prep the space. We can do as little or as much work as is required for your project.

No matter which of these things you need we are prepared to help. Of course we will always make sure we call Dig Safely *811 before we dig (this is especially important to make sure we do not hit anything we should not including water and gas lines) and safety is of the utmost importance to us. If you need any type of excavation, including items not on the list above, call Spencer Paving today to see how we can help!
